Blue Blazes Farrier Service, LLC is a farrier practice in the Fayetteville-Southern Pines corridor, seeking to meet the needs of discerning clients primarily in the eventing, dressage, and hunter-jumper disciplines. The owner, Chris Polites, graduated from The Citadel in 1992 and recently retired from the Army after 21 years. Growing up in the rolling hills of the Kentucky Bluegrass, he always had a love for the working horse, and blacksmithing. He believes in building a strong relationship between client, veterinarian, and farrier to ensure a horse can perform it’s required work to the best of it’s natural ability. A 2013 graduate of Lookout Mountain School of Horseshoeing, Chris has worked with a number of professional, reputable farriers such as Billy Pope, Chad Holmes, and Quentin Wiseman throughout central and southeastern North Carolina. Self-education is never-ending for professional farriers, and he attended the 2014 International Hoof-Care Summit in Cincinnati, OH. He is a member of the North Carolina Horseshoers Association, and the American Farriers Association. Due to his dedication and hard work, he has been afforded the opportunity to work with other farriers at the 2014 Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event from 24-27 April.
